About Diwasou and 眸 魂 荘 (Bōkon-sō)

Diwasou

Founded in 2022 in Tallahassee Florida , our hobby kennel was born from a deep passion for preserving the breed true to the traditional Japanese standard. We are dedicated to raising well-balanced, healthy puppies with sound temperaments and strong structure. Every puppy we raise receives an abundance of love, early socialization, and foundational training to help them thrive in their future homes. We truly love what we do, and it shows in the care and attention each of our dogs receives.

眸 魂 荘 (Bōkon-sō)

We are proud to officially announce that our kennel is now registered with NIPPO (Nihon Ken Hozonkai – Japan Dog Preservation Society) under the kennel name: 眸 魂 荘 (Bōkon-sō)

Meaning of the Name:

眸 (Bō / Manako) – gaze, the pupil of the eye

魂 (Kon) – soul (also a translation of my last name “Diwa”)

荘 (Sō) – manor / place

Together, this means “Manor of the Soulful Gaze.”

The gaze is deeply important to me as a breeder — the eyes of a dog reveal their spirit, their honesty, and their essence. The soul represents both my family name and the heart I put into raising Shiba Inu true to their nature and tradition.

This name carries both personal meaning and respect for the heritage of the Shiba Inu, and I’m honored to take this step with NIPPO.

We are dedicated to preserving the breed how the Japanese intended ,therefore type and temperament are very important to us. We are members of the National Shiba Inu Club of America and Nihonken Hozonkai (NIPPO). We also have membership with Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers. They provide great training and handling instructions,

Health is also extremely important to us, I perform OFA and DNA testing to make sure I only have parents with clear results. This includes Eye exams (CAER) , Patellar Luxation, Hip Dysplasia, and GM1 gangliosidosis.

We do participate in AKC confirmation shows, as well as AKC sport events such as FastCAT. The purpose of AKC dog shows, also known as conformation shows, is to evaluate and select the best breeding stock for purebred dogs. FastCAT is a fun way for this breed to let out their natural prey drive. This helps to maintain the integrity of the breed.
